“Our Special Project this year “Show Me Your Shoes: Raising Funds for Stylish, Flexible and Fun Adaptive Children’s Footwear, ”
will enable POPS to purchase these shoes. The funds will NOT be limited to any one Shriner Children’s location. The title of the project comes from a Texas Fiesta Parade Tradition. When a parade float passes by with a group of ladies on it the crowd shouts “Show me your shoes” and the ladies on the float will lift up the hem of their skirts to show the crowd blinged out cowboy boots, sneakers or another footwear.
I hope this is a Special Project that all courts and members will support. Your courts will receive additional information on this project. There will be an Event page on the Shriners Children’s website where donations may be made directly to Shriners Children’s for this project by credit card, PayPal, ACH, and other electronic methods. Donations may also be mailed to the Grand Recorder or LOSNA Foundation. Both are tax deductible. Notate that your donation is for the 2026-2027 Special Project.”
Live Life with the Soul of a Phoenix and Heart of a Dragon
To live with the soul of a phoenix and the heart of
a dragon is to dedicate oneself to a life of service.
The phoenix reminds us that even in difficult
moments, we rise again—renewed in purpose and
strengthened by compassion for others. The
dragon symbolizes the brave heart that stands
guard for those in need, using its strength not for
itself, but to protect, uplift, and lead. When we
carry the soul of the phoenix, we continually
renew our commitment to serve. When we hold
the heart of the dragon, we find the courage to act
with kindness, leadership, and unwavering
dedication. Together, they inspire us to live not
only with strength, but with a spirit devoted to
helping others and making the world brighter.
